Mountain hike: Schlegeis Stausee - Pfitscher Joch

A scenic hike takes you to the border between Austria and Italy. The starting point of the mountain hike is the bus terminus at Schlegeisspeicher. It is also possible to get here in your own car. Immediately after the bridge, turn right and walk past the "Zamsgatterl" kiosk. Follow the marker 524. The trail continues only slightly uphill into the Zamser Grund. After about an hour you reach the Lavitzalm (2,100 m) and shortly afterwards the head of the valley. From here the ascending and stony section of the trail begins - the Jochschinder. 15 minutes later you are already at the Zollwachhütte (state border). The trail continues up to the nearby refuge. If you want to avoid the "Jochschinder", you can also take the forest path to the Pfitscherjochhaus (2,275m).
