Circular hike: Astegg

The starting point is the Penkenbahn valley station. First walk along the road in a southerly direction over the Steinbrücke bridge. Then turn into Rauchenwaldgasse and walk to the subway of the bypass road. From here you will come to the adjacent Kohlstatt Bridge. Follow path 12 - slightly uphill - to the turn-off to Astegg. After about 20 minutes you will reach a fork in the road to Finkenberg (no. 26). After another hour's walk, you will pass a house. Continue straight ahead to Astegg. A short descent will bring you to the Astegg inn in a few minutes.

The path to Burgstall branches off to the right. Walk along the asphalted road in a slightly downhill northerly direction until you reach hiking trail no. 2. On the forest trail you will reach a cross path in the valley on which you can turn right to Burgstall and return to the starting point.
