Route no. 470 starts at the Europahaus in Mayrhofen. From here, follow the course of the road in the direction of Peter-Habeler-Straße to Kumbichl (above the Ahornbahn) and on to Oberkumbichl. The route after passing through the village begins with a challenging section. Past the Mauthütte, the route continues uphill on the asphalt road. The trees on both sides provide pleasantly cool shade at the beginning of the route.
Numerous fountains lie along the way and offer the opportunity to refill your water bottle. From the Lacknerbrunn inn, the alpine inns begin - including our Lacknerbrunn Alm. Accompanied by the ringing of cowbells, you continue further and further into the valley. Through a short tunnel you come to the dam crest of the reservoir and immediately reach the Wasserfall inn. From here on you can only expect shuttle bus traffic and mountain farmers, as the road is completely closed to public traffic. This is followed by a long flat section past the reservoir to the mouth of the stream. After a short climb, you will pass the Stillupperhaus inn before the final climb on a
well-maintained road to the Grüne Wand hut or to the material cable car of the Kasseler hut. This is particularly steep on the last few minutes of the ride and therefore very demanding.
The way back is identical to the way there.
