Start at the hotel and walk towards Brandberg. In the Scheulingwald forest, go left past the forest cemetery and walk a little further to the forest cross. Turn left here, onto path no. 5 (513). Past the Brandberg chapel in serpentines, the path continues to the Steinerkogel inn (1,269m). Return on the same path.
